The Stanford Cardinal and the Pittsburgh Panthers face off on Tuesday in Brooklyn in college basketball action.
The Stanford Cardinal struggled at times on Monday in their win over Houston but in the end they did what they needed to do to advance. Stanford has just one loss this season losing to BYU at home. Chasson Randle is averaging 19.5 points and 4.0 rebounds to lead the Cardinal. Anthony Brown averages 16.2 points and 6.7 rebounds, Dwight Powell averages 15.3 points and 7.5 rebounds, and Josh Huestis is averaging 11.5 points and 8.7 rebounds. Stanford is averaging 82.5 points and they are shooting 47.8 percent from the floor while defensively they are allowing 73.7 points and their opponents shoot 42.6 percent. While Stanford beat Houston by double digits they had a tough time shaking off the Cougars.

The Pittsburgh Panthers were impressive on Monday clobbering Texas Tech. Pitt led 41-18 at halftime and then went into cruise control for the win. Lamar Patterson leads the Panthers averaging 15.6 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 5.2 assists. Pittsburgh is averaging 80 points per game and they are shooting 48.9 percent from the floor while defensively they are allowing 54.4 points and their opponents shoot just 37.2 percent. Pitt isn’t currently ranked but they appear to be headed towards being so.
Stanford is 2-5 against the spread in their last seven games, 1-4 against the spread following a win, and 1-5 against the spread against a team with a winning record. Pittsburgh is 1-6 against the spread in their last seven games against the Pac-12, 1-4 against the spread following a game that they covered the point spread, and 4-9 against the spread following a win by 20 or more points.
