The West Virginia Mountaineers and the Wisconsin Badgers face off on Wednesday in Cancun in college basketball action.
The Wisconsin Badgers are off to a 7-0 start to the season and ranked 10th in the nation and they are coming off of a win on Tuesday against St. Louis. Wisconsin led by eight points at the half ad held on as the Badgers shot a dreadful 56.7 percent from the free throw line. Frank Kaminsky leads UW averaging 16.6 points and 5.4 rebounds per game. Sam Dekker is averaging 13.7 points and 4.6 rebounds, Traevon Jackson is averaging 12.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 4.3 assists, Ben Brust is averaging 11 points and 5.9 rebounds, and Josh Gasser is averaging 10.3 points and 5.1 rebounds. Wisconsin has been a regular in the NCAA Tournament but they never seem to be able to take the next step and move deep into March Madness.

The West Virginia Mountaineers are looking for a resurgence this season and they are off to a 5- 1 start including an 18-point win over Old Dominion on Tuesday. WVU shot 56 percent from the floor including 42.1 percent from beyond the three-point arc in the demolition of the Monarchs. Eron Harris leads the Mountaineers averaging 20.2 points per game 4.0 rebounds per game. Juwan Staten is averaging 18.2 points, 5.2 rebounds, 7.8 assists, and 2.2 steals, Devin Williams is averaging 11.7 points and 8.3 rebounds, and Remi Dibo is averaging 9.2 points. As a team West Virginia is averaging 87 points and they are shooting 51.4 percent from the floor while defensively they are allowing 69.2 points and their opponents shoot 41.5 percent. This will be a good barometer for WVU to see if they are really back this season.
West Virginia is 6-13-2 against the spread following a win, 2-8 against the spread in their last 10 non-conference games, and 1-7-2 against the spread following a game that they covered the point spread. Wisconsin is 6-1 against the spread against the Big 12 and 1-4 against the spread in their last five Wednesday games.
This one should be a physical game and I look for it to come in under the total. My much stronger play is on who will cover the spread and I will post that in the Premium Area as well as making it available on the App.
