The St Joseph's Hawks collide with the LSU Tigers in the Old Spice Classic.
St Joseph's can be as tough as any team when they are in to a game and can play good teams tick for tack. That's the type of effort we saw in an 83-79 loss to Creighton with the Hawks unable to hold a half time lead. The defense simply wasn't strong enough with the Bluejays connecting at over 55% and St Joes hitting at 47% to stay close with 14 long balls playing a key role before better shooting carried the day. DeAndre Bembry paced the scoring with 20 points with 18 points coming from Chris Wilson while Langston Galloway tossing ing 14 and Ronald Roberts 13.

LSU is off to a nice 3-1 start with the loss coming by two points to Massachusetts on opening day which we now know was a solid performance because the Minutemen are pretty good. The Tigers have ripped off three straight double figure victories after waffling Southeastern Louisiana behind solid performances at both ends of the floor. Lsu squeezed the Lions offense tight to hold them to just 38.5% from the floor while countering with over 52%. A 20-7 edge at the line and a 40-22 advantage on the backboards only added to the Lions problems. Johnny O'Bryant III led all all scorers with 18 points and ten rebounds followed closely 17 points from Jordan Mickey while Andre Stringer tossed in 12 and the duo of Anthony Hickey and Shavon Coleman chipped in with ten points each.
This should be an entertaining match up that the fans will enjoy. I'm thinking that LSU is the better squad but the fan in me is pulling for St Joes and if they win I'll be happy...
