The Miami Hurricanes look to rebound from a tough loss in the Wooden Legacy when they face Cal-State Fullerton.
Miami and George Washington opened the Wooden Legacy with an exciting overtime battle that was more exciting to GW who earned a 71-63 decision which dropped the Hurricanes to 3-3 following consecutive losses. This might have one that slipped away with the Canes shooting 36% in a close affair that saw them nearly win thanks to a 15-5 edge at the stripe while the Colonials hit at 47.5% but couldn't get to the line. Garrius Adams led all scorers with 17 points with five assits on 4-13 from the floor followed by a 16 point, nine rebound effort from Rion Brown while James Kelly added eleven points and six pulls.

Cal State Fullerton is in the feeling out process trying to figure out how they measure up and their 2-4 record says they have areas to work on with the offense showing inconsistency and the defense being scored on. We saw both ends of the floor struggle in an 86-66 loss to Marquette in which they trailed by 13 after 20 minutes and never got their feet under them. The Titans shot the ball well enough at 46% but 15 turnovers combined combined with the Golden Eagles 40-17 edge on the glass with nearly 56% marksmanship was too much for CSF to over come. Michael Williams paced the attack with 16 points with Marquis Horne checking in with 13 while Josh Gentry added another eleven.
I am leaning Miami in this one although they do worry me as favorites when you think they have an advantage which is the effects of having some new faces in the lineup...
