The Kansas Jayhawks and the Villanova Wildcats face off on Friday in the Bahamas in the second round of the Battle 4 Atlantis college basketball tournament.
The Kansas Jayhawks are ranked second in the nation and they very much looked the part on Thursday knocking off Wake Forest. While Final Four spots aren’t earned in November Kansas would certainly be a candidate at this time. Andrew Wiggins leads the way for the Jayhawks averaging 16.8 points and 5.8 rebounds per game. Perry Ellis is averaging 15.2 points and 7.0 rebounds, Wayne Selden Jr. is averaging 10 points, and Frank Mason is averaging 9.2 points. Kansas is averaging 87 points per game and they are shooting 54.5 percent from the floor while defensively KU is allowing 69.6 points and their opponents shoot 43.2 percent. Kansas as played the fourth ranked schedule in the nation thus far.

The Villanova Wildcats are looking to get back to the big time in college basketball and they can take a big step in that direction with a win over Kansas. Jay Wright’s team had no problem on Thursday with USC blowing them out by 15 points. JayVaughn Pinkston leads the way for the Wildcats averaging 18.6 points per game. James Bell is averaging 17.8 points and 6.2 rebounds, Darrun Hilliard is averaging 14.4 points and 5.0 rebounds, and Ryan Arcidiacono is averaging 10.4 points. Villanova is averaging 84.2 points and they are shooting 47.2 percent from the floor while defensively they are allowing 64.2 points and their opponents are shooting 37.6 percent. Villanova appears to be a different team than we have seen from them in recent years.
Kansas is 14-5 against the spread in their last 19 games, 12-4 against the spread following a win, and 4-0 against the spread following a game that they didn’t cover the point spread. Villanova is 5-2 against the spread in their last seven non-conference games, 6-13 against the spread in their last 19 neutral site games, and 6-2 against the spread against a team with a winning record.
I think this is going to be one of the better games of the day in any sport but I just can't get past the KU win over Duke and how well they played in the big game. I see the Jayhawks coming up big here as well.
