The LSU Tigers and Memphis Tigers meet in the winner's bracket of the Old Spice Classic.
Memphis must have still had some lingering memories of their loss to Oklahoma State as they opened up play in the Old Spice Classic with a one sided 87-60 rout of Siena. The Tigers improved to 3-1 behind a complete performance at both ends of the floor as they led by 17 at the break and continued to press the issue until the final buzzer. The defense forced 19 Saints turnovers and held them to under 34% shooting while burning the nets at over 52%. Joe Jackson paced the scoring parade with 18 points followed by a 17 point, ten rebound effort from Shaq Goodwin while Michael Dixon Jr added 16 and Austin Nichols 12.

Louisiana State has been a good story in the early going after opening the OldSpice Classic with a convincing 82-65 decision over a dangerous St Joes squad to up their record to 4-1. Granted the schedule hasn't been the toughest but the Tigers have been winning by double figures wich is all that can be asked when facing inferior competition. I don't consider the Hawks to be inferior but LSU made it appear that way with a 16 point lead at the half that was never challenged. The Tigers connected at over 52% from the field and nailed 10-22 from long distance to secure the victory. Andre Stringer pumped in a team best 18 points and handed out five assists with Jarell Martin tossing in 15 followed by a 14 point, ten rebound performance by Jordan Mickey with Johnny O'Bryant III chipping in with eleven points and eight pulls.
No line out yet but Memphis will be favored by a few baskets or so. Depending on what I see I might go with the points despite the blowout potential...
