The Oregon Dicks and the Pacific Tigers face off on Friday in college basketball’s Global Sports Challenge.
The Oregon Ducks are off to a 4-0 start to the season and they are ranked 15th in the nation. Oregon has played the 160th ranked schedule but they do have a notable win already this year over Georgetown. Joseph Young leads Oregon averaging 23 points per game. Mike Moser is averaging 15.5 points and 7.2 rebounds, Jason Calliste is averaging 10.5 points, Damyean Dotson is averaging 10.2 points and 5.2 rebounds, and Elgin Cook is averaging 10.2 points and 5.0 rebounds. Oregon is averaging 89.5 points and they are shooting 50.2 percent while defensively they are allowing 73.5 points and their opponents are shooting 41.4 percent. Oregon has many options and they are one of the deepest teams in the nation.

The Pacific Tigers are unbeaten so far this season but they take a big step up in competition for this one. This is just Pacific’s second road game of the year playing and winning at Nevada in their opener. Sama Taku leads Pacific averaging 16.2 points and 6.8 rebounds per game. Andrew Brock is averaging 12.8 points, Tony Gill is averaging 14.2 points and 4.5 rebounds, and Ross Rivera is averaging 11.2 points. Pacific is averaging 79 points and the are shooting 45.9 percent from the floor while defensively they are allowing 71.5 points and their opponents are shooting 43.4 percent. Pacific is shooting over 40 percent from beyond the three-point arc.
Oregon is 4-0-1 against the spread in their last five home games, 7-0 against the spread in their last seven non-conference games, and 1-6 against the spread in their last seven against the West Coast Conference. Pacific is 4-0 against the spread in their last four non-conference games, 6-1-1 against the spread against a team with a winning record, and 0-8-1 against the spread against the Pac-12.
This is a big number but I see the Ducks being able to do it as they are just too deep.
