Bragging rights are on the line when the Brigham Young Cougars collide with the Utah State Aggies.
Brigham Young has been a better then average scoring team through seven games although the defensive end hasn't been as strong. The goal for the Cougars is to work their way in to the top 25 and see what happens but BYU got a taste of ranked Wichita State and a 75-62 defeat says the top 25 might still be out of reach. Even though the Shockers didn't impress with 35% shooting but they clamped down on the BYU attack which mustered only 31% from the floor. The main difference was WSU grabbed 14 offensive rebounds and totaled ten more attempts which were put to good use. Matt Carlino led the Cougars with 21 points and six yanks with Tyler Haws adding 17 followed by a ten point effort from Eric Mika.

Utah State is another team that is no stranger to putting the ball in the basketball that has been adequate defensively. The schedule hasn't been particularily tough so who can say whether their numbers are a result of who has been played. The Aggies come in off a 77-71 win over a tough Weber State to boost their record to 5-0 behind 51% marksmanship which translated in to a few more makes from the field while sinking four more foul shots to off set the Wildcats 50% accuracy. Jarred Shaw pumped in a team best 20 points followed by Spencer Butterfield and and Kyle Davis with 16 points apiece with Davis hauling in 14 rebounds while Preston Medlin added 13 points and dished out seven assists.
There is not much of an advantage either way in my view with Brigham Young the more fast paced offense while Utah State is a bit more controlled. Probably a better game to watch then bet to me...
