The Oregon State Beavers lost their season opener to Coppin State but since then they have reeled off three wins. Craig Robinson’s OSU team doesn’t play a difficult out of conference schedule and they don’t start their Pac-12 schedule until January. Roberto Nelson leads the Beavers averaging 27 points, 4.0 rebounds, 6.0 assists, and 1.8 steals per game. Devon Collier is averaging 20 points and 97 rebounds, Angus Brandt is averaging 11.8 points and 6.5 rebounds, and Victor Robbins is averaging 9.2 points and 3.5 rebounds. Oregon State is averaging 85.8 points and they are shooting 53.7 percent while defensively they are allowing 78.8 points and their opponents shoot 42.6 percent. Oregon State has been scoring at will but their defense just hasn’t been there.
DePaul is 5-2 against the spread against the Pac-12, 1-6 against the spread in their last seven home games, and 1-7 against the spread following a loss. Oregon State is 7-2-1 against the spread in their last 10 road games, 2-7-1 against the spread following a win, and 3-0-2 against the spread in their last five games.
DePaul still hasn’t shown me they can win against better teams and while Oregon State is more middle of the road I will take them here.
