The Kentucky Wildcats and the Providence Friars face off on Sunday in Brooklyn in college basketball action.
The Kentucky Wildcats are ranked fourth in the nation and they have bounced back from their loss to Michigan State by winning their next four games in a row. Kentucky has had some dicey moments but they have managed to pull the games out as they are talented but are lacking in experience. Julius Randle is leading up to his billing leading UK averaging 19 points and 13.1 rebounds per game. Aaron Harrison is averaging 13.6 points, James Young is averaging 12.3 points, and Andrew Harrison is averaging 10.7 points. Kentucky is averaging 85.3 points and they are shooting 46.8 percent from the floor while defensively the Cats are allowing 63.9 points and their opponents are shooting 36.3 percent. Kentucky is loaded with NBA talent but it is just a matter of if that alone is enough for them to contend for a spot in the Final Four.

The Providence Friars have a veteran team this season and they enter this game with just one loss. Providence has played the 235th ranked schedule but Ed Cooley’s team suffered their lone loss to Maryland after a comeback came up short. Bryce Cotton leads the Friars averaging 18.5 points, 5.2 assists, and 1.1 steals. LaDontae Henton is averaging 13.6 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 2.0 steals, Kadeem Betts is averaging 13.5 points and 7.4 rebounds, and Tyler Harris is averaging 13.2 points and 4.8 rebounds. Providence is averaging 73.3 points and they are shooting 41.1 percent while defensively they are allowing 61.5 points and their opponents are shooting 40.4 percent. This is easily Providence’s toughest test outside of their Big East schedule.
Kentucky is 7-3-1 against the spread in their last 11 non-SEC games, 1-4-1 against the spread following a win, and 1-5 against the spread against the Big East. Providence is 4-11 against the spread against the SEC, 8-23 against the spread in their last 31 neutral site games, and 1-4 against the spread against a team with a winning record.
This sets up tp be a high scoring game and my free pick will on the over. My stronger play is on the winning side against the spread and I will post that in the Premium Area as well as making it available on the App.
