Purdue looks to rebound from a tough loss in their last outing when they meet Siena again on Sunday.
The Boilermakers are 5-2 and struggled in a 69-54 loss to Washington State Friday, shooting 32 percent from the field and 32 percent from beyond the arc, while allowing the Cougars to shoot 44 percent from the floor and 40 percent from downtown. Senior G Terone Johnson had a team-high 16 points on 35 percent from the floor, hit 2 of 4 from distance and connected on 4 of 4 from the foul line. Purdue led 27-17 at the half, but quickly lost their advantage behind a 14-2 Washington State run in the early stages of the second half. The Cougar lead reached 11 shortly thereafter and Purdue could get no closer. Through seven games, the Boilermakers are averaging 81.7 ppg on 45 percent shooting and Johnson leads the team with 13 ppg on 45 percent from the floor and 31 percent from downtown.

Siena comes into the contest with a record of 2-6 and losers of three straight, dropping their last to St. Joe’s 78-66 on Friday. The Saints shot 40 percent from the floor and 50 percent from beyond the arc, but were outdone by the Hawks’ 52 percent from the field and 53 percent from distance. St. Joes were up by as many as 24 at one point in the first half, but Siena closed to within 46-33 and outscored the Hawks 40-32 in the second half. Freshman G Lavon Long was the high man for the Saints with 13 points on 80 percent from the field and 80 percent from the line on 4 of 5 shooting. Through 8 games, Siena averages 68 ppg on 39 percent shooting and junior G Rob Poole averages 13.9 ppg on 37 percent from the floor and 31 percent from distance.
The line in this matchup favors Purdue by 11.5 and after two consecutive losses, the heartbreaker to Ok State and this last one to Washington State, not to mention these two played just 7 days ago with the Boilermakers taking it by 8, Purdue covers.
