The UAB Blazers and the North Carolina Tar Heels face off on Sunday in college basketball action.
The UAB Blazers are off to a 5-2 start to the season and while their losses seem to be against he better teams they have played this still appears to be a dangerous team. UAB has played the 163rd ranked schedule in the nation going a perfect 4-0 at home this year. Had Frazier is averaging 18.4 points and 5.3 assists to lead the Blazers. C.J. Washington is averaging 16.9 points and 7.7 rebounds, Rod Rucker is averaging 12.4 points and 9.9 rebounds, and Robert Williams is averaging 11.1 points and 6.3 rebounds. UAB is averaging 81.1 points and they are shooting 43.8 percent from the floor while defensively they are allowing 76 points and their opponents are shooting 40.9 percent. UAB can get it done on the boards and when a team can do that they always seem to have a chance.

The North Carolina Tar Heels are coming off of their biggest win of the year as they knocked off the Louisville Cardinals last Sunday. The win softens the blow of the Heels earlier loss to Belmont. Marcus Paige is leading UNC averaging 22.4 points per game. James Michael McAdoo is averaging 15.4 points and 6.4 rebounds, Brice Johnson is averaging 14.6 points and 7.2 rebounds, and J.P. Tokoto is averaging 8.2 points and 5.0 rebounds. North Carolina is averaging 80.2 points per gsame and they are shooting 49.3 percent from the floor while defensively they are allowing 70.8 points and their opponents are shooting 38.9 percent. North Carolina faces Michigan State on Wednesday so they don’t want to be caught looking ahead.
UAB is 9-21 against the spread in their last 30 non-conference games, 1-5 against the spread in their last six home games, and 8-18 against the spread against a team with a winning record. North Carolina is 5-2 against the spread in their last seven road games, 5-1 against the spread against Conference USA, and 1-6 against the spread following a win.
North Carolina is favored by seven here but this one looks like a trap spot for them and they could be in trouble. I am going to take UAB with the points here at home though I see the Blazers having a chance to win.
