The Texas Tech Red Raiders head out on the road to face the number three Arizona Wildcats.

Texas Tech has the look of an improved team although we probably should reserve judgement for when the schedule gets more difficult which will happen when conference play begins. Right now both ends of the floor are doing just fine and were even better in 94-64 rout of Texas-San Antonio which improved their record to 6-2. The defense forced 17 turnovers and held the Roadrunners to 37.7% from the field while the offense blitzed UTSA with 54% marksmanship and forged ten more shots. Jaye Crockett led all scorers with 17 points and eight rebounds with Randy Onwausor tossed in 15 followed by Aaron Ross and Jordan Tolbert with 13 and 12 points.

Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

Arizona is trying to slowly creep up the national rankings as they now stand at #3 but obviously want to be the top dog. The Wildcats have built a nice resume' at 7-0 with a 72-66 decision over Duke behind quality performances from both their scoring and defense. The Wildcats held Duke to 43% accuracy and limited the perimeter game to 4-14 while connecting at 49% and owning a 21-12 edge at the line which was needed with 17 giveaways leading to eleven more looks for the Blue Devils. In the end the Zona offense had more balance with all five starters cracking DD in scoring with a 15 point effort from Nick Johnson leading the boxscore. Brandon Ashley followed with 13 points while the trio of Aaron Gordon, Kaleb Tarczewski and TJ McConnell added ten points each an combined for 22 rebounds.

I hate big spreads because sometimes they are nothing more then an educated guess. I am going with the Wildcats who will see plenty of chalk this season...
