The Williams Arena will be buzzing when the Florida State Seminoles visit the Minnesota Golden Gophers.
Florida State isn't given much of a chance in the ACC probably because nobody knows what this team will do with plenty of new faces. The new faces haven't been all the bad and actually have been good. The Seminoles gave instate rival Florida all they could handle before falling 67-66 in a tight contest throughout. FSU held a 42%-38% shooting edge but came up on the wrong end of a 6-2 advantages in threes and allowed the Gators to grab 16 offensive rebounds to total eight more attempts which was key. Boris Bojanovsky led the Seminoles attack with 14 points before fouling out in 24 minutes with Ian Miller tossing in 13 more followed by Michael Ojo and Aaron Thomas who combined for 22 points and ten pulls.

Minnesota is similar to Florida State in that they are not predicted to make much of a stir in the Big Ten. The Golden Gophers have been a solid scoring squad even in defeats to Syracuse and Arkansas. The scoring continued in an 83-68 win versus Chaminade even though they connected at 38% from the field. The scoring received a boost from 25 makes at the charity stripe while eleven more looks at the basket thanks to 19 forced turnovers and 12 offensive rebounds. Deandre Mathieu paced the scoring parade with 17 points, five pulls and five helpers while Malik Smith added 16 points followed by a ten point, seven rebound performance by Maurice Walker. Overall, five others added between 6-9 points so scoring was spread out and plentiful.
Florida State might be over looked in the ACC but they are playing well and I'm leaning to the points even though this is on the road. I think this is a close one so I generally side with the dog...
