The Northern Iowa Panthers take the floor with the Milwaukee Panthers at the Klotsche Genter.
It seems that Northern Iowa has been struggling a bit through the early going of 2013-14. The Panthers have been all over the map as far as scoring and defense are concerned which is another way of saying both areas need a boost. Both did in a 65-50 victory over La Salle with a 36-24 second half run breaking open a tight contest. UNI held a 44%-31.6% margin in marksmanship which translated in to five more baskets and was the decisive stat. Nate Boss was a man among boys with a game high 23 points and 12 rebounds while Seth Tuttle added 15 point, five yanks and five assists.

Milwaukee has responded to a poor 2012-13 to a solid start behind steady scoring and adequate defense with the caveat being the number 338 strength of schedule. However, as I've said before that a win is a win especially for a team that hasn't enjoyed much success. The Panthers scoring came in handy in an 84-79 victory over UMKC behind white hot 65% marksmanship which negated the Kangaroos 56% shooting. The Kangaroos totaled 14 more looks but Milwaukee sank six more threes and eight more free throws to stay above water. Jordan Aarn exploded for 33 points on 10-14 from the floor with Kyle Kelm adding 13 points, six pulls and five assists while Matt Tiby tossed in 12 points.
Northern Iowa isn't off to a strong start and may be they never get going as I think people tend to think of this team as the one that made noise in the NCAA's a few years back. I just want them to make noise Tuesday...
