The Line: North Carolina State Wolfpack -8.5 -- Over/Under: 144 See the Latest Odds
The NC State Wolfpack and the Northwestern Wildcats face off on Wednesday in college basketball action as part of the Big Ten-ACC Challenge.
The NC State Wolfpack are off to a 4-2 start to their season and while they have been tested they haven’t passed all of the tests. NC State has played the 100th ranked schedule in the nation and it doesn’t figure to get much easier with out-of-conference games against Tennessee and Missouri still ahead. T.J. Warren leads NC St. with 22 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 1.8 steals per game. Anthony “Cat” Barber is averaging 13 points, Desmond Lee is averaging 11.8 points and 5.2 rebounds, and Ralston Turner is averaging 8.3 points and 4.5 rebounds. NC State is averaging 77.5 points per game and they are shooting 49.5 percent while defensively they are allowing 68.5 points and their opponents shoot 41.3 percent. The expectation is always high at NC State.

The Northwestern Wildcats are at 4-4 on the season ad it looks like it could be a tough season in Evanston. The Cats lost their last two games, both in Las Vegas, as they were stomped by UCLA and Missouri. JerShonn Cobb is leading Northwestern averaging 15.1 points and 4.8 rebounds. Drew Crawford is averaging 14.3 points and 6.9 rebounds, Dave Sobolewski is averaging 10.1 points, and Tre Demps is averaging 9.6 points. Northwestern is averaging 71 points and they are shooting 45.3 percent from the floor while defensively they are allowing 68.3 points and their opponents are shooting 43.7 percent. Drew Crawford is banged up and he is questionable for this one.
NC State is 6-1 against the spread in their last even home games, 1-5 against the spread against the Big Ten, and 4-1 against the spread in their last five home games against a team with a road winning percentage less than .400. Northwestern is 5-1 against the spread against the ACC, 2-5 against the spread against a team with a winning record, and 1-5 against the spread in their last six games.
The total is set at 141 and that looks a shade too high so my free pick is on the under. My stronger pick is on who will cover the spread and I have posted that in the Premium Area as well as made it available on the App.
