Matthews Arena and the Northeastern Huskies play host to the steaking Harvard Crimson.
Harvard was supposed to be vulnerable in the Ivy League but have yet to show any weakness as they have jumped to a 7-1 record. Both the offense and defense have been on the same page more often then not with both at their best in a 71-50 rout of Texas Christian. A 23 point lead at the break effectively ended this one and the numbers tell the story with the Horned Frogs held to 25% shooting and 14 field goals. The Crimson had zero problem finding the bottom of the basket at 49% with large advantages throughout except which negated 21 turnovers. Laurent Rivard paced a balanced Harvard attack with 15 points followed by Jonah Travis with eleven while Siyani Chambers and Evan Cummins chipped in with ten apiece.

I wasn't impressed with Northeastern in the early going but then came the upset of Georgetown and three consecutive defeats followed which would lead the casual fan to believe this is a bad team. I'm not ready to say that because the latter defeats came at the hands of decent teams with a 79-66 loss to Virginia Commonwealth not the best looking out come but this was competitive until the Rams pulled away late. The Huskie sanklf their shots so how did a 50% shooting team lose by DD? VCU connected at 55% and totaled 14 more attempts thanks to 16 forced turnovers and 13 offensive rebounds. David Walker led the Northeastern offense with 19 points followed by a 17 point, eight pull performance by Scott Eatherton while TJ Willliams and Zach Stahl contributed 13 and 12 points.
Harvard is the better and more consistent team although Northeastern might be better then most think. I generally go for the Crimson as dogs and I want to take them but...
