The Villanova Wildcats look to stay unbeaten when they face city rival Penn on Wednesday.
Penn is labeled as a team to watch in the Ivy League which might or might not be true in an always unpredictable conference. The Quakers simply need to right the ship right now after falling to Lafayette 79-76 for their third loss in four contests. The Quakers continued to shoot the ball well at 51% but 17 turnovers hurt them. The Leopards only hit at 43% but sank 12-29 from the perimeter which compensated for mediocre marksmanship. Fran Dougherty tried to carry the Quakers with 26 points and nine rebounds with Tony Hicks adding 16 followed by Miles Cartwright and Darien Nelson Henry with a combined 17 points and 13 pulls.

Villanova had slipped out of the national spotlight over the past several year but that is no longer after back to back decisions against Kansas and Iowa. An 88-83 overtime victory over Iowas was probably the most impressive with the Wildcats coming back from nine down at the half versus a club that has been wreaking havoc. Both teams checked in at around 43% accuracy with Nova firing away from long range to the tune of 14-38 while sinking six more free throws. James Bell led five double figure contributors with 20 points and nine rebounds with JayVaughn Pinkston and Josh Hart adding 14 points each and grabbing 12 boards while Darrun Hilliard and Kris Jenkins tossed in 13 and 12 points.
This is a City of Philadelphia rivalry and neither team relishes the thought of losing this. Villanova is finally ranked and want to stay ranked but this number seems a bit heavy which might be due to the Wildcats recent success. I lean Nova who might pull the starters early so be careful...
