The Tulane Green Wave take to the road looking for the upset of the Wake Forest Demon Deacons.
Tulane started the season hot as a firecracker with four straight victories but followed with a four game skid to fall to 4-4. The defense has been an issue during the current slide and has been overall with the opposition averaging 77 points on 49% accuracy. Those numbers didn't improve in a 102-72 loss to Southeastern Missouri State in which the Redhawks raced out to an 18 point first half lead and were never challenged. The Green Wave hit at 40.8% from the floor but SEMO burned the nets at a 59% clip to sink 15 more baskets. Jonathan Stark and Louis Dabney were the only reliable scorers with 21 and 20 points respectively while Jay Hook chipped in with nine.

I've seen signs of improvement from Wake Forest the past few years and I am wondering it this is the season the Demon Deacons make some noise. So far so good but Wake might have been aided by a weak schedule so we shall soon find out when the schedule toughens up. It will also be interesting to see how this team responds from getting waxed 82-63 by Tennessee. The Volunteers simply made shots and limited mistakes while Wake defensively and missed too many shots. The Vols led in the shooting department 53%-42% and turned 27 Wake Forest personals in to 28 makes at the stripe. Codi Miller- McIntyre led the offense with 16 points while 15 points came from Travis McKie followed by a ten point performance by Coron Williams.
Wake Forest is probably the choice here but something about this team laying big chalk rubs me the wrong way. I'll back them but probably wouldn't bet them...
