The Alabama Crimson Tide clash with the South Florida Bulls at the Sun Dome in Saturday's action.

Alabama has been scoring plenty of points thus far and allowing plenty as well but most would expect lower scoring and a defense first attitude from this team. That will come ame about as the season matures with a 76-48 rout of North Florida hopefully the first step in getting the defense pointed in the right direction. The Ospreys got agood look at this defense and didn't like it with 31.6% shooting and 15 turnovers proving to be a bad combination. On the flip side Alabama connected at nearly 45% which was enough to win with advantages in almost every area as well. Levi Randolph led all scorers with 20 points with Nick Jacobs tossing in 13 while Jimmie Taylor and Trevor Releford added 12 and ten points with Taylor snagging nine boards.

The key to winning from a South Florida perspective is to control the scoreboard and limit mistakes. This has worked so far with the Bulls off to a 5-2 start after registering a 68-66 decision over George Mason on the road. The Patriots owned a slight 44%-42% advantage in shooting including a 7-1 mark from long range but USF took advantage of 24 George Mason personals and amassed a 27-11 edge at the stripe which was just enough to get the victory. Corey Allen Jr paced the South Florida offense with 19 points and five yanks bollod by a 15 point, eight pull effort from Victor Rudd while Chris Perry added another 14 points and hauled down 14 rebounds. This trio combined to go 15-28 from the floor with no one else attempting more then three shots.

The key for Alabama is to get an early lead and then tighten up on defense and force South Florida to play catch up. Could be a close one...
