The #13 Oregon Ducks travel to the Tad Smith Coliseum to tangle with the Mississippi Rebels.
Oregon has been racking up the points and dominating the opposition with six of their wins coming by double figures. Cal Poly as victim number seven in a row with the Ducks rolling to an 82-61 victory behind 48% marksmanship combined with a defense that allowed just 40%. That alone was enough to carry the day but the Ducks nailed 9-19 from long range and held a 25-11 advantage at the stripe to win big. Richard Amardi and Elgin Cook led the scoring spree with 14 points each and ten pulls with Damyean Dotson, Joseph Young and Jonathan Loyd tossing in 13 points each while combining to gram eleven rebounds.

Mississipi has been quick out of the gates with a 6-1 record with their only loss coming to Kansas State last time out by a 61-58 count that wasn't decided until the final seconds. The Rebels have been scoring the basketball and are above average at defending the shot but the offense let them down against the Wildcats with just 38% shooting including a 3-18 mark from distance. That might have been enough to win with the Wildcats held to 36.5% from the field but 26 Ole Miss personals turned in to a 19-11 edge at the foul line for KSU. Jarvis Summers tossed in a game high 18 points with Marshall Henderson adding 13 followed by a nine point effort from Demarco Cox in a rather quiet scoring night for the Rebels.
Oregon has been very impressive and are not a team I would look forward to playing. Having said that, Mississippi is no slouch and maybe they can deliver here at home and give the Ducks their first loss...
