The Arkansas Little Rock Trojans visit the Reynolds Center to face the Tulsa Golden Hurricane.
I think strength of schedule is an important factor to look at, but sometimes it doesn't tell us enough. Arkansas Little Rock has played some bigger names and lost each time so I say in this case it means nothing with each loss coming by double figures. The Trojans come in off of an 88-74 victory over Arkansas-Fort Smith in which they led by 16 after 20 minutes and held serve the rest of the way. The one difference was in the shooting department where UALR led 47.7%-42.6% that saw the Trojans sink eight more shots, which was decisive. Will Neighbor led all scorers with 20 points with Marek Isom adding 12, while the duo of James White and Josh Haggins nettee eleven points each and snared 17 rebounds.

I believe Tulsa is better then their 2-6 record record, but I might change my tune if they are still struggling by this time next month. The Golden Hurricane obviously have areas that need improvement, but consistency at both ends of the floor would be a step in the right direction. TU picked up their second victory of the 2013-14 campaign in a 98-71 drubbing of Texas Southern behind red hot 53.7% marksmanship, including an 11-21 performance from beyond the arc. The Tigers were limited to 41.7% from the floor and committed 15 turnovers, which led to the better shooting team totaling 21 more looks. James Woodard paced the scoring parade with 25 points with Rashad Smith and Patrick Swilling Jr adding 14 points each and Smith hauling in eleven boards, while Shaquille Harrison tossed in eleven points.
I have no doubt that the Golden Hurricane are the better team and have blowout potential. It wouldn't surprise me to see Tulsa win in a rout, but the dog in me will take the points and probably sit this out...
