The USC Trojans and the Boston College Eagles face off on Sunday Night in Los Angeles in college basketball action.
The USC Trojans have looked horrible in spots and just when it looks like time to write them off they do something positive. After back to back losses to Villanova and Wake Forest, USC beat a decent Xavier team and scored 84 points in the process. Byron Wesley is averaging 17.6 points and 8.0 rebounds to lead the Trojans. Pe’Shon Howard is averaging 11.4 points, Oamr Oraby is averaging 10.2 points and 6.9 rebounds, and Nikola Javanovic is averaging 7.8 points and 4.5 rebounds. USC is averaging 75.3 points and they are shooting 45 percent while defensively they are allowing 73.5 points and their opponents are shooting 41.1 percent. USC’s schedule will get even tougher as the season goes on.

The Boston College Eagles are 3-5 on the season but they have played the 15th ranked schedule in the country. BC are battle tested but are coming off of a 21 point loss to Purdue. Olivier Hanlan leads the Eagles averaging 20.9 points and 4.9 rebounds per game. Ryan Anderson is averaging 18.6 points and 6.9 rebounds, Joe Rahon is averaging 12.1 points, and Alex Dragicevich is averaging 6.9 points. Boston College is averaging 78.3 points and they are shooting 46.4 percent while defensively they are allowing 80.9 points and their opponents are shooting 47.5 percent. BC has beaten a Pac-12 team this year when they knocked off Washington.
USC is 12-25-1 against the spread in their last 38 home games, 4-11-1 against the spread in their last 16 non-conference games, and 1-4-1 against the spread following a win. Boston College is 2-5 against the spread in their last seven non-conference games, 2-6 against the spread in their last eight games, and 1-4 against the spread in their last five road games against a team with a winning home record.
Boston College’s record is deceiving but they are the better team here and getting points they are the play.
