The Dartmouth Big Green travel to Illinois to play the Fighting Illini on Tuesday night.
Dartmouth dropped to 3-3 on the year after losing to IPFW 80-64 on Saturday. The Big Green shot only 42% from the field and 35% from long distance. Dartmouth shot 53% from the free throw line and was down 16 points by halftime. Dartmouth did not play great defense against IPFW, as they allowed them to shoot over 56% from the field in the loss. Sophomore F Connor Boehm led the Big Green with 15 points and 8 rebounds, while freshman G Eli Harrison added 12 points. On the year, Dartmouth has played inconsistent on both ends of the floor. Boehm and sophomore G Alex Mitola lead the team in scoring with over 11 points per game. Junior F Gabas Maldunas adds almost 10 points per game for Dartmouth and leads the team in rebounding with 10 rebounds per game. This will be the best team Dartmouth has played all year and they will be playing on the road where the Big Green are 1-2 this season.

The Illinois Fighting Illini improved to 8-1 on the year after beating Auburn 81-62 on Sunday. Illinois bounced back after losing their first game of the season to Georgia Tech last week. The Illini shot over 60% from the field and over 50% from three point range. Junior G Rayvonte Rice led the team with 22 points, while junior G Tracy Abrams added a season-high 17 points, 5 assists, and a team-high 7 rebounds. Senior F Jon Ekey scored 14 points while making 4 of 6 from three-point range. The Illini held Auburn to only 40% from the field and 31% from behind the arc. On the year, Rice leads Illinois with 18.4 points per game, while Abrams averages 11.3. Ekey averages a team-high 6.6 rebounds per game. The Illini have not played a tough schedule early on, but they have two big games coming up at Oregon and then next week against Missouri. Illinois is 7-0 at home this season.
Dartmouth has lost on the road to some averages teams this year, while Illinois has looked pretty dominate at home. If the Illini come out hot shooting the ball it could get ugly fast for Dartmouth. With some big games coming up for Illinois, look for them to take care of business early in this one.
