The Oakland Golden Grizzlies travel to Indiana to play the Hoosiers on Tuesday night.
Oakland improved to 2-7 on the year after beating Ohio 73-56 on Saturday. The Golden Grizzlies dropped their first 7 games of the year but they have now won two straight. Against Ohio, Oakland shot 40% from the field and 31% from three-point range. The Golden Grizzlies shot nearly 80% from the charity stripe, knocking down 12 of 23 free throws. Senior G Duke Mondy led the team in both scoring and rebounding with 13 points and 9 rebounds. Mondy also added 3 steals and a block for the Golden Grizzlies. Freshman G Kahill Felder also scored 13 points and was one of six players in double figures on Saturday. Oakland statistically is at the bottom of almost every category in college basketball right now. However, the Golden Grizzlies have played a tough schedule with losses to UNC, UCLA, Cal, and Gonzaga on their resume. Oakland may be looking at another loss to a big-time team on Tuesday, but they should play as an improved team from a month ago.

The Indiana Hossiers improved to 7-2 on the year after beating North Florida 89-68 on Saturday. The Hoosiers shot over 46% from the field and 33% from long distance. Indiana shot 68% from the free throw line in their 35th straight nonconference win at home. Nine Hoosiers scored in the first half on their way to a 17-point lead at the break. Senior G Evan Gordon scored 15 points and Sophomore G Yogi Ferrell added 14 points with 7 assists. Freshman F Noah Vonleh posted his sixth double-double of the season with 13 points and 11 rebounds and added four steals as Indiana recovered from a stretch of two losses in three games. On the year, Ferrell leads the team with 17 points and 4 assists per game, while Vonleh averages 13.3 and 10 rebounds per contest. Indiana has only lost to two solid opponents this year in Syracuse and UConn. The Hoosiers are a perfect 6-0 at Assembly Hall this season.
Oakland lost by 23 at UNC, 31 at UCLA, 4 at California, and 15 against Gonzaga on the road. Meanwhile, Indiana has blown some inferior opponents out at home this season. The Hoosiers might be looking ahead in this game with Notre Dame on deck this Saturday. However, the Hoosiers have room for improvement so I think they will come out focused against an improving Oakland team. Oakland has multiple players that can score and they should keep things interesting early on. However, I think the Hoosiers will be too much at home and will win this game by 20 or more.
