Kansas State tries to make it four in a row when they welcome South Dakota to Manhattan Tuesday night.
The Wildcats are 5-3 and fresh off a thrilling 61-58 victory over Ole Miss Thursday night in the Big12/SEC Challenge. Junior F Thomas Gipson led K-State with 15 points and 6 rebounds on 6 of 7 shooting, while freshman G Marcus Foster added 15 points and 5 boards. The two sides traded baskets for much of the first half with K-State jumping out to small leads throughout and taking a 31-29 advantage into the break. The second half followed suit and neither team gained a clear advantage until Foster drained a three to make it 57-53 with 1:27 left. The Rebels closed to within 59-58 on an off-balance three-point shot from colorful Rebel’s G Marshall Henderson with 28 seconds left. Senior G Will Spradling then upped the lead to 60-58, hitting 1 of 2 free throws and the game ended with Henderson missing a long three-point attempt for the win. Through eight games, the Wildcats are averaging 65.5 ppg on 41 percent shooting and Foster leads the team with 14 ppg on 38 percent from the floor and 34 percent from distance.

South Dakota, meanwhile, enters the game with a record of 3-5 and in the middle of a two-game skid, with their last outing a 67-66 overtime loss to Wyoming on Saturday. The Coyotes shot 22 of 62 from the field and hit just 5 of 20 from beyond the arc. Junior G Brandon Bos had a team-high 22 points on 5 of 16 shooting and made 10 of 11 from the free throw line. South Dakota led much of the second half, but the Cowboys took a 60-58 lead with three seconds left in regulation before Bos was fouled with one second remaining and made two free throws to send the game to OT. On the season, the Coyotes are averaging 69.6 ppg on 42 percent shooting and Bos leads the team with 14.9 ppg on 45 percent from the floor and 45 percent from downtown.
The line in this one is currently set at -15 for K-State and S. Dakota could be outclassed here with their only halfway notable opponent being St. Bonaventure and they got throttled by 22 there. Look for a K-State cover.
