The Colorado State Rams are off to a 7-3 start to the season but all of their losses have come to tough competition. CSU has lost to Gonzaga, UTEP, and Colorado and they have played the 134th ranked schedule overall. J.J. Avila is averaging 19.5 points and 6.3 rebounds to lead the Rams. Daniel Bejerano is averaging 13.4 points and 8.0 rebounds, Jon Octeus is averaging 12.9 points, and Gerson Santo is averaging 8.5 points. Colorado State is averaging 81.1 points and they are shooting 44.7 percent while defensively they are allowing 70.2 points and their opponents are shooting 43.6 percent. Colorado State should be battle tested by the time they hit their MWC schedule.

The Denver Pioneers are off to a 2-5 start but they have played the 84th ranked schedule in the nation. UD is coming off of a loss to Mercer on Sunday but they had won their previous two games. Chris Udofia is averaging 12.7 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 3.6 blocks per game. Bret Olson is averaging 12.3 points and 4.0 rebounds, Jalen Love is averaging 10.4 points, and Cam Griffin is averaging 9.6 points and 7.3 rebounds. Denver is averaging 62.7 points and they are shooting 40.3 percent while defensively they are allowing 69.7 points and their opponents are shooting 49.7 percent. Denver still has a few tests before they start Summit League play.
Colorado State is 19-6-1 against the spread against a team with a losing record, 2-7-1 against the spread in their last 10 home games, and 1-10-1 against the spread following a win. Denver is 2-7 against the spread against the Mountain West, 1-7 against the spread in their last eight games, and 0-7 against the spread in their last seven non-conference games. The underdog has covered the point spread in six of the last eight meetings of these two.
Colorado State is solid this season and this one looks like a slam dunk for them.
