The Taco Bell Arena and the Boise State Broncos host the Saint Mary's Gaels on Saturday.
Saint Mary's is no stanger to hot starts and they are off and running to a 7-0 record behind plenty of scoring and a stingy defense. Eastern Washington saw both up front and personal and the result was 93-65 rout. The Gaels led by 15 heading to the locker room and were never threatened with 47.7% shooting doing plenty of damage including an 8-17 mark from distance. The defense held the Eagles to 39% from the field and forced 14 turnovers with EWU going 4-23 on threes. Brad Waldow led all scorers with 24 points and eight boards with Kerry Carter adding 18 while Beau Levesque tossed in 14 points and grebbed seven rebounds. James Walker III and Stephen Holt rounded out the top contributors with 12 and eleven points with 11 players scoring altogether.

Boise State is known more for their prowess on the gridiron then hardwood so their 7-0 start to kick off the season was big news. All things come to an end as they say and the streak ended with a 70-55 defeat at Kentucky. The Broncos hung in there for awhile but trailed by ten at the break and never got their feet under them. The Wildcats simply out shot Boise 53%-32% but turned the ball over 18 times which added up 18 extra looks which were negated by poor marksmanship. Anthony Drmic paced the Boise State attack with 18 points on 7-22 from the floor while Derrick Marks added 14 points on 6-18 shooting with Mikey Thompson chipping in with eight points.
I expected Boise State to be a small favorite here especially with this being Saint Mary's first road game. Be certain the Broncos will be fired up but I can't give the Gaels points right or wrong...
