The Furman Paladins and Clemson Tigers take the floor at Littlejohn Coliseum in Saturday action.
Furman has been struggling to get their defense in line before the conference slate begins in a few short weeks. The offense has been a bit up and down at times which makes it tough to win if neither on the same page. The offense had their best game of the season but the defense didn't hold up their end of the bargain in a 97-94 loss to Mars Hill. The Lions connected at 53% but gave the ball away 18 times to give the 48% shooting Paladins 18 more attempts. This game was decided at the line where Mars Hill led 32-19 with Furman going 19-35 (53%). Larry Wideman paced the attack with 20 points with Stephen Croone adding 16 and William Gates Jr. 14 while Kris Acox and Charlie Reddick netted 13 and eleven points.

Clemson seems to be able to put the ball in the basket when necessary but their fortay is putting a strangle hold on opposing offenses which is why the Tigers have flourished thus far. Having said that, neither end of the floor was strong enough in a 74-68 defeat at the hands of Arkansas. The Tigers never found the shooting touch at at 32.8% but ten more shots and 25 makes at the line kept the game competitive while the Razorbacks 43% shooting and ten bombs carried the day. KJ McDaniels was the Tigers main weapon as he poured in a game high 27 points and hauled eleven rebounds while Damarcus Harrison dropped 13 points and snagged five boards followed by a ten point effort from Rod Hall.
I think this game is all about potential to cover. If bothe teams play well, which one can get the job done and to me that's the Tigers at home...
