The University of Dayton Arena will be packed when their Dayton Flyers tangle with the Central Michigan Chippewas.
Central Michigan is off to a nice start and are on a four game winning streak but I want to see if the good times keep rolling when the schedule gets tougher because right now it stands at #345. The Chippewas squeaked by SIU-Edwardsville 65-64 with both teams connecting at 43%-45% with a combined 14-53 from long range. The only edge was the Chips totaling eight more shots which was the difference in such a close game. The biggest advantage however was having Chip Fowler in a Central Michigan uniform as he tossed in a game high 23 points with five pulls and six helpers with John Simons and Rayshawn Simmons combining for 17 points and ten rebounds.

Dayton has looked strong in the early going with a win over Gonzaga and a one point loss to Baylor. These performances had the Flyers cracking the top 25 but the stay was a short one with an 81-75 defeat at Illinois State knocking them out of rankings. The offense did their job on 49% from the floor but did give the ball away 18 times to the Redbirds who sank half their looks. A 21-12 advantage at the charity stripe proved to be a crucial in a close contest where the Flyers struggled at 60% accuracy which left points on the court. Vee Sanford led a trio of double digit scorers with 14 points and five pulls with Jordan Sibert adding 13 points and six boards followed by a combined 19 points from Khari Price and Scoochie Smith. Altogether eleven players saw the floor and all scored.
This spread is a little bigger then I exected which turns me off because I liked Dayton. I suppose I can still like the Flyers and just watch...
