North Dakota State improved to 7-3 on the year after beating Notre Dame on the road 73-69 on Wednesday. The Bison shot over 50% from the field and the three-point line, while also shooting 73% from the charity stripe. Marshall Bjorklund scored 26 points and Taylor Braun added 13 points to lead the Bison to a road upset over Notre Dame. The Bison offense will face their toughest test against arguably the best defensive backcourt in the country this weekend. The Ohio State Buckeyes improved to 9-0 on the year after beating Bryant 86-48 on Wednesday night. The Buckeyes shot over 52% from the field and 40% from three-point range, while shooting 70% from the free throw line. Ohio State limited Bryant to 27% from the field and 25% from behind the arc. Senior G Lenzelle Smith Jr. led the team with 19 points, while senior G Aaron Craft added 7 points and a team-high 4 assists. Junior C Amir Williams scored 12 points and had a team-high 9 rebounds and 6 blocks. On the year, Smith Jr. leads the team with 12.9 points per game, while Williams leads the team with 7.1 rebounds and Craft averages a team-high 4.9 assists per contest. The Buckeyes defense is suffocating and the backcourt will make every opponent work to bring the ball in the half court and distribute the basketball. Craft may be the best on the ball defender in the country, while Shannon Scott and Williams are game-changing defenders. The Buckeyes will try to remain perfect at home this season in what will be their ninth home game of the season.
North Dakota State is coming off a big win against Notre Dame on Wednesday and this might be a prime spot for a letdown. Meanwhile, Ohio State has not played a tough schedule so far this year and they will be highly motivated to knock off a good Bison squad. The Buckeyes defense will slow down the North Dakota State offense, while the Bison will not have an answer for the multiple playmakers on offense for Ohio State. Ohio State wins this game comfortably.
