The Frost Arena and the South Dakota State Jackrabbits play host to the Belmont Bruins on Saturday.
South Dakota State is a team that has shown to be capable offensively and defensively but getting both on the same page and on a regular basis is the goal. Neither came up big in a 75-59 defeat Minnesota which was their third loss in four contests. The Golden Gophers shot the ball slightly better at 43.5%-40.7% and mustered eight more looks and five more field goals for which the Jackrabbits could not answer. Jordan Dykstra paced the South Dakota State scoring with 16 points and 12 rebounds with Chad White netting 15 while the duo of Cody Larson and Brayden Carlson combined for 17 points with Larsen snaring five boards.

Belmont was not supposed to be as strong as in the past but at 8-2 the numbers seem to tell a different story. The Bruins have been riding their offense which is sinking half their shots and averaging nearly 83 points although the defense had a huge hand in a 70-58 decision at a loaded Middle Tennessee State. The Bruins led by seven at the break and held serve the rest of the way with both teams hitting shots at around 38% with a 25-14 edge at the line and fiv more threes carrying the day. JJ Mann exploded for a game high 32 points and seven boards on 7-15 from the field with Drew Windler tossing in ten points and snagging six boards while Blake Jenkins and Evan Bradds combined for 16 points.
This seems like the proverbial trap game because the line seems low even though my numbers say it's about right. I think the Jackrabbits are better then their record which has me worried here...
