The Washington Huskies and the Idaho State Bengals face off on Saturday in college basketball action.
The Washington Huskies haven’t quite been the team we have grown accustomed to as they have started the season 4-4. UW has played the 145th ranked schedule and it looks like it will get more difficult as the Pac-12 is greatly improved. C.J. Wilcox leads the Huskies averaging 21.9 points per game. Nigel Williams-Goss is averaging 3 points and 5.0 assists, Andrew Andrews is averaging 12.8 points, and Perris Blackwell is averaging 12 points and 8.7 rebounds. Washington is averaging 81.5 points per game and they are shooting 42.6 percent while defensively they are allowing 84.1 points and their opponents are shooting 50.8 percent. Washington clearly has front line talent but their defense is going to need to improve or it is going to be a long season.

The Idaho State Bengals are 3-3 on the season losing three of their last five games. Idaho State has played the 58th ranked schedule in the nation but they are just 1-3 on the road this season. Tomas Sanchez is averaging 16.2 points and 4.7 assists to lead the Bengals. Chris Hansen is averaging 15.7 points, Andre Hatchett is averaging 13.7 points and 7.7 rebounds, and Jeffrey Solarian is averaging 10.3 points and 7.0 rebounds. Idaho State is averaging 77.3 points and they are shooting 46 percent while defensively they are allowing 72.7 points and their opponents are shooting 46.7 percent. Idaho State begins their Big Sky schedule on January 4th.
Washington is 1-4 against the spread in their last five games, 0-4 against the spread in their last four home games, and 1-4 against the spread following a loss. Idaho State is 3-7-1 against the spread following a loss, 1-6 against the spread against the Pac-12, and 3-1-1 against the spread in their last five road games against a team with a winning home record.
I like Washington to win this game but the number looks to be to the aggressive side and I am going to take the points with the road dog.
