The North Carolina-Wilmington Seahawks host the Manhattan Jaspers at Trask Coliseum.
Manhattan has been scoring a lot of points in the early going but during a three game winning streak the defensive end of the floor has been getting involved and if that continues this will be a tough team going forward. Monmouth was the latest to fall to the Jaspers but they didn't go down easy in 75-66 decision in which the Hawks led by nine heading in to the locker room. Mahattan didn't shoot all that well at 42.6% but the defense was outstanding with 23 forced giveaways and by holding the Hawks to less then 35% shooting. Tyler Wilson paced a balanced attack with 15 points with Emmy Andujar adding 13 points and six pulls while Rhamel Brown and George Beamon combined for 21 points and 14 yanks.

North Carolina-Wilmington is trying to build a little momentum with back to back victories. The Seahawks stand at 6-5 following a 69-50 decision against Campbell in one of their more complete peformances of the season. UNCW took a 16 point lead after 20 minutes and were never challenged with the defense holding the Fighting Camels to a mere 36% accuracy while connecting at 52% themselves. The difference in shooting was enough to secure the win as it resulted in six more field goals. Shane Reybold paced the attack with 15 points and ten rebounds followed by an eleven point, five pull effort from Freddie Jackson while Craig Ponder and Cedrick Williams netted ten points each with Williams snaring six boards.
Initially I am leanining to Manhattan because they are 5-0 away from home but this won't be easy with the Seahawks very capable at home. This might be better left alone...
