The Denver Pioneers host the Belmont Bruins at the Magness Arena Tuesday Night.
Although Belmont is the favorite to win the Ohio Valley they don't seem to be as fearsome as in year's past. Losing some talent has ha an effect and I believe it has hurt them more at the defensive end of the floor. Look no further then their 85-72 loss at South Dakota State in which the Jackrabbits burned the nets at 57% from the floor while the Bruins hit at 49% but also gave the ball away 16 times which is not Belmont basketball. Craig Bradshaw led four DD scorers with 17 points with JJ Mann tossing in 15 followed by Blake Jenkins with 14 while Caleb Chowbay chipped in with ten points.

Denver had struggled to begin the 2013-14 campaign but have been righting the ship as of late. The Pioneers logged their fourth win in five contests following a 64-61 victory over visiting Wyoming. DU appeared to be in complete control with a nine point lead after 20 minutes before a second half Cowboys rally made things interesting. At the final buzzer the Pioneers 52% shooting and three double digit scorers over came a 38 point explosion from the Cowboys Larry Nance Jr. Brett Olsen led the Denver attack with 23 points on 8-12 from the floor with Marcus Byrd netting 14 points followed by an eleven point, six rebound performance from Chris Udofia.
Belmont isn't as strong as we've been accustomed to seeing but I do think we should see a competitive effort from them after the debacle at South Dakota State so I'm leaning to the points...
