The Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles travel to the Resch Center to tangle with the Green Bay Phoenix.
Tennessee Tech isn't accustomed to winning so I'd say their 6-6 record is a positive sign. The score first Golden Eagles have no problem finding the bottom of the basket and generally have to score with the defense allowing their fair share of points. These trends continued in a 79-74 road decision at Lamar behind 50% marksmanship. The Golden Eagles did give the ball away 21 times which kept the 45% shooting Cardinals competitive. Dennis Ogbe paced the offense with 17 points and five yanks with Ty Allen tossing in 16 followed by Ladon Carter and Shirmane Thomas with 12 points each with Carter hauling in 12 rebounds.

When I look at Green Bay's 6-3 record it seems better to me considering the team has played just a pair of home games. That's a tough way to start a season but satisfying at the same time when you can do well away from home. The Phoenix rebounded from a poor loss at Eastern Michigan to rally past South Dakota 89-85 on the road. GB connected at 44% but used 17 offensive rebounds to total nine more looks to over come 41% shooting from the Coyotes. Keifer Sykes was the offensive star of the game with 23 points, six boards and five helpers followed by a 17 point, eight rebound effort from Alec Brown with Greg Mays adding 15 while Jordan Fouse and Carrington Love netted eleven each with Fouse snagging 14 rebounds.
Green Bay is due for a smack down and Tennessee Tech isn't that great. Having said that the Phoenix need to get all cylinders clicking before I lay big chalk on them and I hope I'm wrong because I like them...
