The Line: Ohio Bobcats +3 -- Over/Under: 149.5 See the Latest Odds
The Ohio Bobcats and the UMass Minutemen face off on Wednesday in college basketball action.
The Ohio Bobcats are off to a 7-2 start to the season and they get their second chance to knock off a ranked team as they lost to Ohio State earlier this year. Ohio’s last loss, two games back, was a bit of a shocker as they were throttled by Oakland by 17 points. Maurice Ndour leads the Bobcats averaging 13.9 points and 7.9 rebounds per game. Nick Kellogg is averaging 13.9 points, Ricardo Johnson is averaging 8.6 points, and Jon Smith is averaging 8.9 points and 6.1 rebounds. Ohio is averaging 72.8 points per game and they are shooting 45.2 percent from the floor while defensively they are allowing 64.4 points and their opponents are shooting 37.2 percent. Ohio lost to Ohio State by just 10 and they are hoping to do better than that here against Massachusetts.

The UMass Minutemen are off to a 9-0 start and are ranked 20th in the nation. UMass is playing just their second road game of the season but they are 5-0 in games played on a neutral court. Chaz Williams leads the Minutemen averaging 16.9 points and 7.4 assists per game. Cady Lalanne is averaging 15.7 points and 9.8 rebounds, Sampson Carter is averaging 12.9 points, and Raphiel Putney is averaging 12.9 points and 5.1 rebounds. As a team UMass is averaging 84 points and they are shooting 48 percent while defensively they are allowing 72.2 points and their opponents are shooting 41 percent. UMass shoots 38.4 percent from beyond the 3-point arc.
Ohio is 20-7 against the spread in their last 27 non-conference games, 4-12 against the spread against a team with a winning record, and 1-4-1 against the spread against the A-10. UMass is 7-0 against the spread following a win 4-0 against the spread in their last four road games, and 6-0 against the spread against a team with a winning record.
The total is at 149.5 and while both of these teams can put up points, they are stingy defensively so it is a lean to the under for my free pick. I also have a pick on who will cover the spread and I will post that in the Premium Area as well as on the App.
