The Tennessee-Martin Skyhawks visit the Bud Walton Arena to face the Arkansas Razorbacks.
Winning basketball and Tennessee-Martin are not generally mentioned in the same sentence but the Skyhawks have won three in a row so it is a big deal to them. UTM has been scoring points and needed to last time out in a 73-70 decision over Presbyterian who shot a lights out 59.6% with the visitors hitting at 46%. The difference was Tennessee-Martin was 12-26 on threes and forced 16 turnovers. The Skyhawks offense was really a three man game with Mike Liabo leading the way with 20 points followed by a 19 point, five assist effort from Terence Smith while Marshun Newell netted 18 points.

Arkansas has played a top 50 schedule which makes their 7-2 record look pretty good although they have yet to hit the always rugged SEC slate. For now the Razorbacks are cruising right along with balanced scoring and defense although neither was needed in a 72-43 pounding of Savannah State last time out that was a two point game before Arkansas went on a 45-19 second half tear. The Tigers were held to 31% accuracy and gave the ball away 18 times which made the Hogs 43.5% shooting and 46-26 advantage on the backboards a winning combo. Rashad Madden tossed in a game high 21 points with Bobby Portis adding ten points and hauling in eleven rebounds while Coty Clarke netted eight points and grabbed another ten boards.
The numbers say Arkansas at home isn't a bad way to go although I think Tennessee-Martin is improved but they haven't played enough for me to have a lot of faith in them so I'm steering clear...
