The Bradley Braves and Portland Pilots square off in the Las Vegas Holiday Hoops Classic.
Bradley isn't predicted to be a major player in the Missouri Valley although it's too early to say if that's true or not. Right now the Braves just need a win and get momentum on their side with three losses in a row where the scoring and defense have been just short. IUPU-Fort Worth handed the Braves a 65-61 loss with the Mastodons hitting at 45% but barely holding o over the 40% shooting Braves who turned 17 giveaways in to eight more looks. Walt Lemon Jr. tossed in 14 points with Omari Greer adding 13 followed by Ka'Darryl Bell and Tyshon Pickett with a combined 21 points.

Many teams would like to have the record Portland has at 6-4 although in reality the strength of schedule hasn't been real strong. The Pilots had won three in a row by double figures before the good times ended in a 72-69 defeat at the hands of Montana State as a 14 point favorite. Both teams sank shots in the 45% range but Portland gave the ball away 15 times and were out scored at the charity stripe 20-10 which was key in a close game. Kevin Bailey exploded for 26 points and five boards with Ryan Nicholas netting 15 points and hauling in a monster 15 rebounds. Thomas van der Mars added nine points and six boards while Alec Wintering chipped in with seven points and seven assists.
Neither team has played a difficult schedule so this boils down to which has performed better although I must say both look risky to me...
