The LSU Tigers and the UAB Blazers face off on Saturday in Baton Rouge in college basketball action.
The LSU Tigers have won their last three games in a row and they enter this game at 7-2 overall. LSU has played the 35th ranked schedule in the nation and they are a perfect 4-0 at home this season. Johnny O’Bryant III is averaging 14.6 points per game and 8.6 rebounds per game to lead the Tigers. Jordan Mickey is averaging 13.9 points and 8.4 rebounds per game, Andre Stringer is averaging 13 points, and Anthony Hickey is averaging 10.2 points. LSU is averaging 77.9 and they are shooting 46.8 percent from the floor while defensively they are allowing 68.7 points and their opponents are shooting 39.3 percent. LSU could sneak up on some of the better teams this season.

The UAB Blazers are 9-2 on the season and have a signature win as they beat North Carolina. UAB has played the 258th ranked schedule which will get a little tougher after they begin Conference USA play. Chad Frazier leads the Blazers averaging 18.8 points and 5.0 assists per game. C.J. Washington is averaging 14.1 points and 7.3 rebounds, Rod Rucker is averaging 12 points and 8.5 rebounds, and Fahro Alihodzic is averaging 9.6 points and 7.6 rebounds. UAB is averaging 77.8 points and they are shooting 43.6 percent while defensively they are allowing 70.4 points and their opponents are shooting 39.3 percent. UAB can pound the boards and that is going to keep them in a lot of games this year.
LSU is 1-4 against the spread in their last five home games, 0-4 against the spread in their last four non-conference games, and 1-5 against the spread following a win. UAB is 8-3 against the spread against the SEC, 5-2 against the spread in their last seven games, and 1-5 against the spread following a game that they didn’t cover the spread.
UAB can bang the boards and I like that to be enough to keep them close enough to cover though I like LSU to win the game.
