The Buffalo Bulls clash with the Manhattan Jaspers in the Brooklyn Holiday Hoops Invitational.
When I look at what Buffalo has accomplished in the early going it's been either all or nothing in that they win when playing well or lose and struggle with no in between. It was the latter in a 69-55 defeat to Canisius in which a second half meltdown erased a nine point lead at the break. Neither team shot the ball great with both around 43%-44% but the Bulls gave the ball away 15 times and did not get to the line where they were out scored 13-3. Leading scorer Javon McCrea tossed in 13 points and grabbed six boards with Josh Freelove and Will Regan adding eleven and ten points respectively.

If the Jaspers hot start is any indicator of what the future holds for the rest of the MAAC when conference play begins then the rest of the league better watch out. Mahattan has ripped off five consecutive victories following an 86-68 dcision over South Carolina. The offense seems to be clicking right now and is able to over come any flaws the team might have defensively. Manhattan connected at 47% from the field with Gamecocks checking in at 42% but this game was won at the charity stripe where the Jaspers turned 23 South Carolina personals in to a 34-22 advantage. George Beamon tossed in a game high 26 points with five pulls and Michael Alvarado added 20 points and six assists while Ashton Pankey chipped in with nine.
What scares me is I like Manhattan and so does the entire free world which is never good. I'm backing the Jaspers but I need to look closer at this...
