The Old Dominion Monarchs look to steal a win at the Trask Coliseum versus the North Carolina-Wilmington Seahawks.
Old Dominion has been having problems getting their offense and defense on the same page and it's really hurt. After a 4-0 start the Monarchs have lost seven in a row after falling 51-44 to Charleston. The defense put forth a winnable effort with Charlston held to 37% from the floor but the offense didn't hold up their end of the bargain with only 31% marksmanship including 1-10 from long range which was crucial with the Cougars hitting four bombs. Aaron Bacote led the Old Dominion offense with 13 points on 4-10 shooting with Dimitri Batten netting ten points on 4-14 accuracy while Keenan Palmore chipped in with nine points.

North Carolina-Wilmington hasn't played enough games to figure out where they stand in the Colonial which seems to be wide open on any particular day. The Seahawks appeared to have the ship ppointed in the right direction as winners in three of four before falling to visiting Manhattan by a 77-72 count. This was nip and tuck throughout with both teams connecting at 48% from the floor. As is the case in college basketball all too often the work at the foul line can be the difference and it was here with the Jaspers sinking seven more free throws. The Seahawks received a team high 18 points and 14 rebounds from Cedrick Williams with Addison Spruill tossing in 15 followed by Freddie Jackson and Tanner Milson with eleven points each.
Old Dominion has fared well in this match up but I suppose if North Carolina-Wilmington is going to break that trend it would be at home but I have thought the same thing before...
