Wake Forest eyes four straight victories when they host UNC-Greensboro Saturday.
Wake Forest is 6-2 and coming off a commanding 77-62 win over St. Bonaventure Tuesday in which the Demon Deacons showed no signs they hadn’t taken the floor since Dec. 7 and shot 49 percent from the field . Sophomore G Codi Miller-McIntyre led all scorers with 20 points on 8 of 13 shooting and hit 4 of 5 from the free throw line, while sophomore F Devin Thomas added 18 points and 6 rebounds. Wake Forest fell behind early and found themselves trailing by as many as 11 points in the first half before rallying to cut the lead to 36-28 by the break. The two sides traded buckets all the way to the midway point of the second half until the Demon Deacons seized control with a 13-2 run that put them ahead 63-53 at the five minute mark. The Bonnies were able to close within seven points with just over 4 minutes left, but could get no closer. On the season, Wake Forest is averaging 79.2 ppg on 45 percent shooting and Miller-McIntyre leads the team with 18.1 ppg on 48 percent from the floor.

UNC Greensboro, meanwhile, comes in with a record of 6-6 and winners in two of their last three, including a 78-65 victory over James Madison Wednesday behind a stellar shooting performance. The Spartans hit 27 of 53 from the field and 11 of 19 from beyond the arc and junior F Nicholas Paulos had a team-high 21 points on 7 of 11 from distance while grabbing 5 rebounds. Neither team was able to separate itself in the first half and the Dukes led 42-36 at the break. The Spartans used a 14-4 run at the start of the second half to go ahead 50-48 at the 16:21mark for their first lead since the early going and never trailed again. Through 12 games, Greensboro is averaging 75.3 ppg on 47 percent shooting and junior F Kyle Cain leads the team with 16 ppg and 8 rebounds per outing.
Wake Forest is currently an 18 point favorite in this one and while that’s a lot to lay down, the Demon Deacons haven’t even approached a scare. They’ve handled everyone they should have with relative ease and lost by just 9 to then #2 Kansas. The only questionable result was a 19-point loss to Tennessee. The points still look like the better option, though.
