The Saint Mary's Gaels take the floor with the Hawaii Warriors in the Diamond Head Classic.
My thoughts are Saint Mary's believed they had a very good shot at winning the Diamond Head Classic and might have looked past South Carolina and that cost them. The Gaels fell to the Gamecocks by a 78-71 count to suffer loss numbber one on the year with neither end of the floor playing up to their potential. While the Gamecocks fired away at 58% from the floor, SMC struggled to under 41% which was the difference in the game. Brad Waldow tossed in a game high 20 points with five yanks followed by a 15 point, eight pull effort from Beau Levesque while Stephen Holt and James Walker III netted 14 and 13 points with Holt handing out five assists.

Hawaii can be a tough place to travel to and compete and Boise State would probably agree after squeezing out a 62-61 victory. In the process the surging Warriors saw a five game winning streak go by the wayside in a game that could have gone either way. The Broncos hit shots at 48% with UH checking in at 46% with the Broncos sinking three more from distance. Brandon Spearman led the Warriors scoring with 17 points on 6-9 shooting with Keith Shamburger tossing in 13 points and grabbing five boards with five helpers on 4-7 while Isaac Fotu netted 12 points on 6-10 accuracy. This trio combined to shoot 16-26 with the rest of the team going 7-24 spead among four players.
Saint Mary's will be the favorite here and it will be more then a few baskets despite their poor performance in the opener. I already know I don't like this even without a line...
