The Oregon State Beavers and the George Mason Patriots face off on Monday in Hawaii in college basketball action.
The Oregon State Beavers trailed by just a point in their tournament opener at Akron on Sunday but in the second half they had no answers as they fell to the Zips. OSU tries to regroup today as they get off to an early start. Roberto nelson leads the Beavers averaging 21.9 points per game and he had 20 on Sunday. Devon Collier Is averaging 19.9 points and 9.0 rebounds, Victor Robbins is averaging 6.7 points, and Hallice Cook is averaging 5.6 points as Angus Brandt appears to be doubtful for this one. Oregon State is averaging 82.9 points and they are shooting 52.7 percent from the floor while defensively they are allowing 76.3 points and their opponents shoot 43.4 percent from the floor. Oregon State had won three games in a row heading into Sunday.

The George Mason Patriots had no answers for Iowa State on Sunday as they lost to the Cyclones in their tournament opener. It was GMU’s third loss in a row in what has been a tough start to the season. Sherrod Wright leads the patriots averaging 14.9 points and 4.4 rebounds per game but on Sunday he had just two points. Bryon Allen had 14 points on Sunday and he averages 12.1 for the season, Marko Gujanicic averages 10.9 points and 5.5 rebounds, and Patrick Holloway averages 7.3 points but he scored 19 against ISU. George mason is averaging 66.4 points and they are shooting 43 percent while defensively they are allowing 68.1 points and their opponents are shooting 43.7 percent. George Mason is hoping they can get to A-10 play with a winning record.
Oregon State is 5-1 against the spread following a game that they didn’t cover the spread, 12-3-2 against the spread following a loss, and 9-4-1 against the spread in their last 14 neutral site games. George Mason is 1-4 against the spread in their last five non-conference games, 0-4 against the spread in their last four games overall, and 0-4 against the spread against a team with a winning record.
It looks to be a tough year for George Mason.
