The Diamond Head Classic title will be decided when the #14 Iowa State Cyclones and Boise State Broncos collide.
#14 Iowa State has been one of the more impressive teams in the country as they close in on the Diamond Head Classic championship after double digit victories over George Mason and Akron in the semifinals. The Zips are a pretty good team in my view but the Cyclones handled them easily behind strong performances at both ends of the floor. ISU hit at a hefty 53.6% from the field and held the Zips to only 37.5% while outscoring them at the line by a 14-1 count. George Niang led all scorers with 22 points with Melvin Ejim right on his heels with 22 points and 12 boards while Dustin Hogue and DeAndre Kane added 18 and 15 points with Kane grabbing eleven rebounds.

Boise State finds themselves in the tile game following a narrow win over Hawaii in the opener and an 80-54 rout of South Carolina in the semis that was never in doubt. The Broncos charged to a 15 point lead after 20 minutes and did not let up until the final buzzer. BSU fired away at almost 54% while limiting the Gamecocks to just 37% accuracy while going 9-22 from long range. The D forced 16 Gamecocks giveaways in a wire to wire rout that featured a 30 point, six pull performance from Anthony Drmic. Mike Thompson tossed in ten points and the duo of Jeff Elorriaga and Thomas Bropleh contributed nine points apiece with Bropleh handing out five helpers with an eight man rotation doing the majority of the damage.
My feelings on this is Boise State is a good team but still not in the class of Iowa State. If the Cyclones get up early the Broncos are dead meat...
