The Lafayette Leopards travel to the Prudential Center to face the Seton Hall Pirates.
After a slow start Lafayette appears to have righted the ship some what with with four consecutive victories before dropping a 65-62 decision to St Francis (NY). Offense is what drives this team but that was hard to find even though they out shot the Terriers 45%-35.7%. That was because of 18 turnovers that led to 14 more SFNY looks which was decisive. Bryce Scott carried the offense with 35 points on 10-17 from the floor with Dan Trist and Nick Lindner combining for 15 points with Trist snagging eight rebounds but production was hard to come by outside of Scott.

Seton Hall has a nice record but if I said I knew what this team was going to do on a daily basis I would be lying. This was a team that lost to Saint Peter's, Fairleigh-Dickinson and Mercer so that says a lot. The Pirates wereb in another struggle with Eastern Washington before a 54 point second half enabled SHU to pull away from a two point game. Seton Hall exploded on 57% shooting while limiting the Eagles to under 40% with 27-10 margin at the foul line sealing the deal. Brian Oliver and Gene Teague paced the scoring burst with 16 points each with Teague grabbing nine boards while Jaren Sina and Fuquan Edwin adden 14 points apiece followed by a combined 21 points from Brandon Mobley and Haralds Karlis.
Seton Hall could easily crush Lafayette because quite honestly the Leopards are awful on defense and unpredictable. Having said that Seton Hall has struggled versus similar competiton or have blasted them. I'll take the points but have minimal interest although I want Lafayette to win...
