The Nebraska Cornhuskers are hoping this is the year they are more competitive in the Big Ten as they finally got conference wins last season. This is the Huskers last game before they start their Big Ten schedule and they have played the 181st ranked schedule which will drop to the 18th toughest by the time the season is over. Terran Petteway is averaging 16.6 points and 4.6 rebounds per game to lead the Huskers. Shavon Shields is averaging 13.6 points and 5.3 rebounds, Walter Pitchford is averaging 9.0 points and 4.6 rebounds, and Deverell Biggs is averaging 9.3 points. Nebraska is averaging 73.4 points and they are shooting 44.9 percent while defensively they are allowing 65.9 points and their opponents are shooting 42.4 percent. Nebraska has won four of their last five games.
Cincinnati is 4-0 against the spread in their last four home games, 4-9 against the spread against a team with a winning record, and 1-6 against the spread following a win by 20 or more points. Nebraska is 12-3-1 against the spread following a game that they didn’t cover the spread, 2-5 against the spread against a team with a winning record, and 1-4 against the spread in their last five road games.
Cincinnati is a double-digit favorite here but it just looks like way too many points.
