The Eastern Michigan Eagles travel to Duke to play the Blue Devils on Saturday.
Eastern Michigan improved to 7-3 overall after an 81-79 overtime win over Oakland last week. The Eagles shot over 46% from the field and only 28.6% from three point range. Mike Talley led Eastern Michigan with 21 points while Glenn Bryant added 14 and Darrell Cobs had 13. Eastern Michigan ranks in the middle or bottom of most statistical categories, shooting 45% from the field as a team and averaging over 72 points per contest. Junior F Karrington Ward leads the team with 15.4 points and 6.2 rebounds per game this season. The Eagles won their first 5 games of the year before losing three straight to Kentucky (18), UMass (12), and Purdue (5). This will be the fourth road game of the year for Eastern Michigan; the Eagles are 1-2 on the road so far this season.

The Duke Blue Devils improved to 9-2 overall after beating UCLA 80-63 over a week ago. The Blue Devils shot over 48% from the field and 34.4% from three point range in the win. Jabari Parker led Duke with 23 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 assists. Rodney Hood and Quinn Cook each had 14 points for the Blue Devils. Cook had five assists and all eight of Duke’s steals. On the year, Parker leads the team with 22.1 points and 7.8 rebounds per game this year. The Blue Devils are averaging a whopping 85.5 points per game and are shooting over 51% from the field. Duke is not a great rebounding team, pulling down only 33.7 boards per game. The Blue Devils only two losses came against Kansas and Arizona. Duke will be at home for this game where they are 7-0 this year.
Eastern Michigan got beat by Kentucky by 18 points and UMass by 12 points earlier in the year, and those two teams are comparable to this Duke squad. However, playing in Cameron Indoor Stadium will be a tough task for the Eagles and I think with a week off Duke will come out fired up. The Blue Devils win big on Saturday.
