The Santa Clara Broncos have won four of their last five games but they are just 1-3 on the road this season. Santa Clara has faced the 250th ranked schedule in the nation, easier than they will see in WCC play this season. Brandon Clark leads the Broncos averaging 15.8 points per game. Jared Brownridge is averaging 14.7 points, Evan Roquemore is averaging 11.3 points, and Jerry Brown Jr. is averaging 9.3 points and 6.8 rebounds. Gonzaga is 5-0-1 against the spread following a loss, 4-1-1 against the spread against the WCC< and 11-2-1 against the spread following a game that they didn’t cover the point spread. Santa Clara is 1-3-1 against the spread in their last five road games, 2-7 against the spread in their last nine WCC games, and 5-2-1 against the spread against a team with a winning record. The home team has covered the point spread in nine of the last 11 meetings of these two.
Look for Gonzaga to make a statement in their conference opener and to cover this big number.
